On Saturday June 1st the Rotary Club of Guelph South held its first "Grate Groan-Up Scavenger Hunt".  This event was developed, a joint effort by the Membership and Public Relations Committees, to have fun as a Club and to raise both the profile of our Club and the nearby new local businesses in the Clair & Gordon retail/commercial quadrant.
There was no fundraising involved here!  Rather, teams of members (with their distinctive yellow Rotary shirts on), some with family or friends, were given a set of clues - from those clues they had to identify the business that clue represented, then go to that business and "scavenge" some token (eg. business card) to show that they had been there.  The winning team was the one that captured the most within the 1 hour time limit.
Following the event the teams met back at the Hug residence for a barbeque lunch and more fellowship.  Just more of the fun and camaraderie that our Rotary Club is known for!

We are grateful to the local businesses that participated.  A link to the Photo Journal from the event is posted on the left side of the website home page.

Now we can't wait to hold another, even bigger and better, event!
