October 23, 2015 GUELPH

Last night the Rotary Club of Guelph South hosted it’s 10th annual Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee at the Delta Hotel in Guelph.  A record 20 teams took part including 4 teams from local Rotary clubs.

The funds raised go to support two Guelph charities – Westwood Public School breakfast program and J.O.E. (Jobs, Opportunities, Enterprise) a grassroots program offering work experience for young adults with mental challenges, and for the Olive Tree Project (maternal health) in Haiti.  Cheque presentations to take place next month.

In the 6th round Davies & Mahnke Private Wealth Management team, The Money Bee$,  beat out the Sesquipedalian Savants team from the Rotary Club of Guelph.  The attached picture of the 2015 Grate Groan Up Spelling Bee winners – The Money Bee$ - was taken by Rotarian Pat Lewis.
