For 2012 your support of the Spelling Bee will help Wyndham House, Guelph Wish Fund for Children, and our Nicaragua project, Condimentos del Carizal, along with our worthwhile Rotary projects.

ImageWYNDHAM HOUSE:
Located in Guelph, Wyndham House operates both a young men and young women's Long Term Residential Program, each staffed 24 hours a day, each with capacity for eight youth.  The clients have full access to a Life Skills Development Program as well as an After Care Support Program, thus empowering and educating them with the skills and abilities needed to make positive, healthy life choices about their future.  In addition to the Long Term Residential Program, their programs include an Emergency Youth Shelter as well as a Youth Resource Centre in the downtown.  For more information visit their website at www.wyndhamhouse.org.

This organization grants a favourite "wish" to children who are 19 years of age and under, who have serious or life-threatening illnesses, severe handicaps, or who have been critically injured.  The child must reside in Guelph and South Wellington County.  It is the hope of the charity to provide the child and family with a special moment or memory that will help, if only for a short time, to relieve the pain and anxiety caused by their illness or injury.  The Guelph Wish Fund for Children also provides support to deserving children, and their families, who must travel outside our community for treatment and therapy.  For more information visit their website at www.guelphwishfund.org.

CONDIMENTOS DEL CARIZAL:
This is an economic development project in Nicaragua, initiated by our Rotary Club.  We have provided start up funding for a group of women to start a small preserve making business using locally available tropical fruits.  Several members of our Club have already visited this economically disadvantaged village near San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.   More information is available on our website.
